Gl. Holtegaard
On May 30th at 12:00, Gl. Holtegaard will open the doors to the newly revitalized Kunsthalle with a festive celebration of Tal R's exhibition MOONWALK.
Mayor Ann Sofie Ohrt will officially open the Kunsthalle and during the day there will be musical performances from opera singers Serena Sáenz and Peter Lodahl.
The exhibition presents Tal R's sculptural work from the past 20 years and unfolds from the interior of the house and out into the garden. Here you can experience colorful shapes, surprising materials and poetic stories that invite you to explore with both your eyes and your imagination.

At the same time, the Baroque Garden will be inaugurated as a sculpture park with works by both Danish and international artists. The park will continuously develop and can be experienced year-round.
There will be an opportunity to purchase drinks on the day.
Free admission.

The Art
Residency
As early as May 2025, the public has been able to follow the extensive restoration that will bring Gl. Holtegaard back to its grandeur.
The Art Residency program stems from a growing interest in sculpture as an artistic form of expression, realized through techniques that craftsmen have used for centuries. Contemporary artists have increasingly embraced these techniques and are expressing themselves in their own artistic language, while challenging boundaries and expanding our understanding of classical sculpture.
Therefore, The Art Residency x Gl. Holtegaard attracts and supports a generation of Danish and international contemporary artists, who are currently eager to work in our workshops in Pietrasanta.
We can see a clear trend towards the revival of traditional crafts and their re-entry into the art scene. It is our hope that The Art Residency can help artists move from idea to production and thus serve as a starting point for new works. At the same time, the program creates the necessary framework to unite artistic creativity with craft knowledge and skill.
A sculpture begins as an idea! Without a workshop, it is difficult to turn the idea into reality.
