Café alma
About Café alma
Gl. Holtegaard and alma are joining forces to establish Café alma, a new gathering place where art, food, and community come together in historic surroundings.
Located in the thatched former stable building, the café will serve as a natural extension of the Gl. Holtegaard experience, offering visitors a place to meet, relax, and take a break between exploring the Kunsthalle’s exhibitions and sculpture park.
Alma is dedicated to high quality ingredients, craftsmanship, and hospitality, with a focus on organic produce, seasonal menus, local suppliers, and responsible choices. Through Café alma, we look forward to sharing this passion for honest ingredients and simple yet delicious food.
This vision aligns closely with Gl. Holtegaard’s ambition to create a cultural centre where art, nature, science, and conversation go hand in hand. Gl. Holtegaard is a vibrant meeting place featuring international exhibitions, a unique sculpture park set within the historic Baroque garden, classical concerts, lectures, and special events.
Café alma will be more than just a café. It will be a place where quality ingredients, thoughtfulness, and aesthetics come together. An informal setting that invites reflection, community, and meaningful conversations. Here, guests can enjoy a cup of coffee, lunch, or a glass of wine while allowing the day’s artistic experiences to settle in. In good weather, visitors can sit on the terrace overlooking the Baroque garden and sculpture park.
The partnership is built on a shared belief that quality, authenticity, and responsibility create the strongest experiences. Together, Gl. Holtegaard and alma aim to create a place where art does not end at the walls of the exhibition galleries, but continues around the table in the meeting between people, food, and culture.
The café is now open, but it will be fully established over the course of the summer.
The café's opening hours follow those of the kunsthalle.

Café Culture
Gl. Holtegaard collaborates with Kian Seyfabad, who runs Café Kultur at Kulturcenter Mariehøj – the kunsthalles neighbor.
It takes about five minutes to walk from the main building through the sculpture park to the café. If you have difficulty walking, you can be driven in the Kunsthalles golf cart or take the trip by car.

About Café Culture
Café Kultur is located in the heart of Gammel Holte and was created with the desire to be a place where people can meet, relax and enjoy good food in informal surroundings.
The restaurant was opened six years ago by Kian Seyfabad and has since become a gathering point for both locals and visitors. The cuisine combines Danish ingredients with inspiration from international food traditions.
The team is international and consists of employees from the Middle East and Latin America, which is also reflected in the café's flavor universe and atmosphere.
At Café Kultur, the focus is on quality, hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere.

Café Kultur
At the same time, Gl. Holtegaard will continue its collaboration with Kian Seyfabad and Café Kultur at Mariehøj Cultural Centre, located just a few minutes’ walk through the sculpture park from the art hall.
While Café Alma will primarily offer coffee, lunch, wine, and light refreshments during the day, visitors will still have the opportunity to enjoy dinner at Café Kultur.
